"Education is not linear to succesful life". Modern concepts and mindsets like this is becoming so popular nowadays, meaning that the education curricula does not guarantee a better life and future, so why spend so much money on it???
Well, this is partly true, especially in underdeveloped countries, with lack of job opportunities and lack of information. But I am a true believer that education is the most important driving factor to successful life. And this is why I divided Education into 2 types of skills that should be a synergical combination:
1. Hard Skills
Hard skills relate to academical/ and practical skills, like computer science, architecture, biology and dozens of other things/subjects we learn in school and universities. The hard skills will somehow indicate or professionality and competency in a particular field.

2. Soft skills consists of a broader range of complementary subjects you will not get in classrooms, including self-confidence, communication skills, teamworking skills, tolerance, discipline, politeness and... (i can go on forever).

And here are the difference between the two:
1. Hard skills can be obtained by reading books and really studying hard. While soft skills, you CANT learn from books, you can somehow read about it, but wont take you anywhere... soft skills are usually obtained by social interaction, and community involvement
2. For some of us who are really smart, can study a certain chapter of a subject in just 2 days and get an "A" grade for their exams. This doesnt apply for soft skills, it may take way over 2 years to understand just a small part of it. And there's no such thing as "grades" in assesing yourself on these skills. Its purely how the community looks and judges you... :)

But the two skills also have a similarity which is, they both must be given to people as soon as possible, so they are both a sustainable and an on-going process.

Most curricula nowadays are very "hard skills-oriented", and dont really give much attention to the soft skills, and they really should start, because (to be honest) I think its the soft skills that will eventually get you far.
Soft skills can make us more sensitive in becoming a human being as a whole, a true human being, a social individual.
So the sinergy between the two with emphasizing a little more on soft skills would be a great combination, and parents as well as school teachers and/or university lecturers should be aware of that. Community services, extra-curricula activies, social activities, sports club, boy scouts/ girl guides...anything... as long as it involves social interaction is great for the children "complementary" education.
Look around, successful people are actually people who are not just professional, they have these "plus" quality that others do not possess, and that's what makes them recognized as a part of community and is making changes to the community, and then (for me) that is what you call successful as a human being.
